Double crossed crib quilt

A crib quilt for my first born and first official quilt using cotton and a pattern.

Fabric: Calliope by Riley Blake fat quarter bundle

Pattern: Double Crossed by Amy Smart

Finished size: 42″ x 56″

As a newbie, I wasn’t confident enough to just start cutting and seeing where things would land (and who knew fabric could be so expensive!). I worked on a layout via computer for a month or so before it felt right.

Construction happened the old fashion way, on my kitchen table. It took about 3.5 months of maternity leave nap times to complete.

I’m very happy with the way it turned out, and my daughter loves “wrapping up in your love.” If I were to do anything different, I would leave off her name, in hopes that it would be a family heirloom that anyone could use in the distant future.
